Division 1 (Grades 2 - 4)
Athletes in grades 2-3-4 are in Division I. Teams are generally formed by elementary school and neighborhoods. Games are scheduled to be held at Fernbrook Elementary.
This division emphasizes skill development and fun - everyone plays equally and gets to try all the positions.
Division 2 (Grades 5 - 7)
Grades 5-6-7 make up Division 2.
Games are scheduled to be held at Fernbrook Elementary and Maple Grove Senior High. Inter-league games are planned for this league with neighboring communities. One game per week may be played against a non OMGAA team in a neighboring city. Details are provided during the season.
This Division continues to emphasize the balance between skill development and fun; equal playing time and position rotation is emphasized. Players may begin to specialize in position play as appropriate. We recommend sliding pads for athletes in this Division to protect the athletes from injury.
Division 3 (Grades 8 - 12)
Grades 8 through 12 make up this league. In this Division, all National Federation of State High School softball rules apply, However a round robin batting order is still used. Players may specialize in position play, but coaches are asked to continue to rotate players through a variety of positions. Games are schedule to be held at Maple Grove Senior High. Inter-league games are planned for this league with neighboring communities. One game per week may be played against a non OMGAA team in a neighboring city. Details are provided during the season. We recommend sliding pads for athletes in this Division to protect the athletes from injury.
