Team Update 31 July:
Dan and I would like to thank everyone, Parents and Players, for their wonderful support and encouragement this past season. It was a tough year to say the least but we both really enjoyed coaching this team. We really loved the fact that, as the season got tougher and we continued to lose close games, no one lost their enthusiasm to play hard as a team and continued to support each other on and off the field.
While I like to win as much as anyone, and it is always easier to be on a winning team, the true character of a team and their players only shows through when things don’t go right. Maintaining a good attitude, preserving in tough situations and supporting your teammates, all in the face of adversity, is the real test and hallmark of a Teammate and a Team and the 2008 Volcanoes were a Team made up of real Teammates this year. So while our record might not be something to brag about, how we played as a Team is something to be proud of and take away from this season. Best of luck to all the players in their future athletic careers.
