The Mets had yet another heartbreaker in a 2 - 1 loss to the Nationals. Nearly perfect pitching wasn't enough to hold off the 7 player Nationals squad. The highlight of the game came when first ever co-MVPs, Cory and Caleb, connected with an out at first. Cory took a grounder at third and, when it looked like there was no chance, he fired a bullet that Caleb stretched for just enough to beat the runner. The Mets had several chances to take control of the game, leaving the bases loaded more than once. The Mets face the 11 - 1 Twins next. A win would put the team in a perfect position going into the playoffs.
