10-12 HOUSE

Welcome to the OMGAA House Leagues!

The House program provides players ages 10-12 (typically 4th-6th grade) an opportunity to develop their skills and play league games in a less competitive environment.  All OMGAA leagues are kid-pitch.

10-12 Minor/ Major League: Players cannot be older than 12 as of April 30th. Player age levels are determined by age on April 30th, however current 4th graders born after April 30th are allowed to sign up for Minor League if you prefer.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON 4TH GRADE MINOR LEAGUE

Minor League ball is intended as a player’s continuation from Rookie League and gives kids an opportunity to build upon skills learned in the previous year. The Minor League is made up of mostly 4th graders and all players will go through an evaluation of basic baseball skills which will aid in creating balanced teams.  This league is kid pitch. It is expected that all players will have equal playing time and coaches will evaluate best positions for kids to play in the field.

Equipment: All kids need their own glove and helmet.  Bats may be shared and cleats and batting gloves are optional.

LEAGUE FORMAT

Teams will play approx. 2 games per week.  Generally the games are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Practices are scheduled at coach discretion.  The league encourages team to practice 1-2 times per week.

A 2 game guarantee playoff will culminate the season.

TEAM FORMATION

Minor League teams are balanced based on scores at evaluation, but one friend request will be allowed at team formation pending a mutually exclusive request from one other OMGAA athlete.
