OMGAA House Fall Season

FALL STORM SOFTBALL TRAVEL LEAGUE DESCRIPTION:
We are excited to offer our community a FALL travel fast pitch softball league through (OMGAA) Osseo Maple Grove Athletic Association and The Big West. The fall season is shortened for 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U teams that wish to extend their playing season from August through September.   

Play Consists of Four (4) weeks of league play with eight (8) games and One State Tournament.

  • Fall Ball Week 1 - August 24-25
  • OFF Labor Day - September 2, 2024
  • Fall Ball Week 2 - September 7-8
  • Fall Ball Week 3 - September 14-15
  • Fall Ball Week 4 - September 21-22
  • Fall State - September 28-29

8-Under & 10-Under play on Saturdays

  • Week 1 - August 24
  • Week 2 - September 7
  • Week 3 - September 14
  • Week 4 - September 21
  • Week 5 - STATE TOURNAMENT - September 28

12-Under, 14-Under, and High School (16U/18U) play on Sundays

  • Week 1 - August 25
  • Week 2 - September 8
  • Week 3 - September 15
  • Week 4 - September 22
  • Week 5 - STATE TOURNAMENT - September 29

 

FALL HOUSE SOFTBALL WITH  OMGAA and PWYSA:

The Plymouth and Osseo, Maple Grove communities are excited to offer an 8U and 10U recreation league for the fall again this year. This league will be comprised of PWYSA and Maple Grove. Games will be played either at a PWYSA field or in Maple Grove.   

Teams have two practices per week (90 minutes each) starting in early August. Practice Starts the week of August 5.   Practice will be on Monday/Wed or Tue/Thu.   Games will be on the following Sundays with a start time of 4:00 pm:

  • August 18
  • August 25
  • September 8
  • September 15
  • September 22 

Please note that games may also be on August 21st or 22nd, August 28th or 29th, and September 11th or 12th, with a 6:00 or 6:30 start time.

  • REGISTRATION TIMING:
    Registration will open on July 23 and close on August 21. Click on the link above to register. Once Registration closes, the league director will work with the coaches to form teams. Coaches/team managers will notify families by August 4, 2023.


     

    REGISTRATION FEE COVERAGE: $150 Cost
    Registration fees cover the administrative and equipment needs for all House and Travel league teams for the fall. This includes umpire costs, field use fees, administrative and technology costs, insurance, and uniforms (Softball Jersey).

     

    UNIFORMS:
    This year, fall uniforms will include a shirt. For bottoms, the girls are required to wear pants for games and a player face mask.

2023 DIBS VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

 

2024 OMGAA Baseball and Fastpitch (traveling and house leagues)

DIBS PROGRAM:

DIBS Opportunities for the 2024 season will be available from September 1st, 2023 thru August 31st, 2024. The OMGAA DIBS Director will record all volunteer request and fulfilments.

DIBS Requirements:

  • 4 hours per family.
  • Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
  • $250.00 buyout per player/$500.00 max per family- if you choose this option, you will not be required to do DIBS hours.
  • DIBS check: Each OMGAA player who has not elected to buy-out, will be required to give a DIBS check of $250.00 to the DIBS Director before uniforms will be released. 
  • DIBS checks will be destroyed upon completion of DIBS requirements.
  • DIBS requirements that are not fulfilled, checks will be cashed after August 31st, 2024.

DIBS Exemptions:

  • Head Coaches, two Assistant Coaches and either a Team Manager or a third Assistant Coach are exempt from the DIBS requirement.
  • League, Program and Special Coordinators are exempt from the DIBS requirement for the current season.

2024 OMGAA House Fast Pitch Program Levels

OMGAA House Fast pitch league is a house program for girls ages 8-18.   The league focuses on teaching basic fundamentals of the sport.  Please contact the league director, Kim Reed, at Reed@omgaa.org for any questions regarding age, grade or friend requests.

8U- Sept 1, 2014 - 2017-Machine Pitch

This level will focus on the basic fundamentals such as throwing, catching, hitting, fielding, and base running.  Coaches will use a spring loaded machine to deliver pitches at a reasonable speed to encourage players to make contact with the ball and for players to field the ball.  Teams may practice 1-2 times were per week and have 1-2 games per week.  Games may be played against other communities and require travel to those communities.  

10U - Sept 1 2012-August 31 2014​​​​​​​ - Player Pitch

This level will continue to build players’ basic fundamental skills and understanding of game situations.  Additionally, this level will work to develop pitching and catching.  Players will be introduced to stealing bases at this level. Teams may practice 1-2 times per week and have 1-2 games per week.  Games may be played against other communities and require travel to those communities. 

12U- Sept 1 2010-August 31 2012​​​​​​​ | Player Pitch 

This level will continue to build players’ basic fundamental skills and understanding of the game.  Players at this level will continue to work on pitching and catching.  Teams may practice 1-2 times per week and have 1-2 games per week.  Games may be played against other communities and require travel to those communities.

14U- Sept 1 2008- August 31  2010​​​​​​​ | Player Pitch 

This level will continue to build players’ basic fundamentals.  The objective is to provide players a platform to continue to play fast pitch in a fun and competitive environment.  Teams may practice 1-2 times per week and have 1-2 games per week.  Games may be played against other communities and require travel to those communities. 

16U-2007/2008​​​​​​​ Player Pitch 

This level will continue to build players’ basic fundamentals.  The objective is to provide players a platform to continue to play fast pitch in a fun and competitive environment.  Teams may practice 1-2 times per week and have 1-2 games per week.  Games may be played against other communities and require travel to those communities.

18U-2005- 2006 | Player Pitch 

This level will continue to build players’ basic fundamentals.  The objective is to provide players a platform to continue to play fast pitch in a fun and competitive environment.  Teams may practice 1-2 times per week and have 1-2 games per week.  Games may be played against other communities and require travel to those communities.
